Hello!

Recently we sent out a batch of postcards to new Nissan cube® owners welcoming you to join cube® community. And here you are. Welcome! With any luck you found your way without any trouble and your journey was a pleasant one. Hopefully the short time you’ve had with your cube® thus far has been fantastic and you’re ready to meet other owners and cube enthusiasts.

Have you named your cube? You might consider it. It’s a pretty funky car and in a way it’s part of your family now. Like an adorable baby, or your beloved uncle that tells inappropriate jokes, your cube® is bound to get some extra attention, so giving it a name will help you attach a bit of personality to this very personable vehicle.

There’s a lot on cube® community for you to check out. Browse our photos and videos and feel free to add your own. Keep an eye on the events tab (we’re bound to have some new outings soon). Be sure to check the forums – there’s all kinds of interesting information for cube owners in there. Also, if you’d like, you can mention that you’d like to have blogging capabilities - we’re always interested in hearing more stories!

Driving Tunes

Hello cube® enthusiasts!

Last year we asked people to give us a playlist of their favourite, top 10 driving songs. I loved it, it turned me onto some wicked music I hadn't had the chance to get into yet. There was an eclectic mix, to say the least.
As a general wondering, what kind of music do you bop your head to when you roll in your cube®? It's definitely a car that lends itself to a fun ride and it's a car for artsy people and artsy people tend to have great taste in tunes. Are you someone that gets caught air drumming at a stoplight? Or perhaps you're the person I can hear coming up my street from 3 blocks away. I think it's L'il Wayne but I'm really not sure. Actually I sort of hope that's not a cube® driver ;)

Anyway, let us know what's up with your musical taste. We like you and want to know everything about you. (In a not creepy way).

Judging Books

Everyone judges books by their covers. It's impossible not to. But I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I don't think we need to strive, as so many teachers teach, to not judge a book by its cover. If we didn't have a preconceived notion of what a turnout's going to look like, we wouldn't enjoy the surprise as much when the unexpected happens.
The obvious most recent rewarding example of a judged-book surprise is Susan Boyle, the hobgoblin that dropped the jaws of Britain's Got Talent judges and soon thereafter exploded the internet via YouTube. The judges were prejudging, as was the world, and everyone got shocked and awed. When I was forwarded me the link (thanks Joey for being on top of that) I was convinced that this would be the new William Hong (American Idol). Prejudged, Susan Boyle would be a reinventing of Hong, likely an even more hilarious audition, a catastrophic car wreck of a performance for my amusement. But when the opposite hit, and the surprise was induced, it was so much more. More enjoyable, more rewarding and more memorable than any right assumption of the book's cover could have been.

It’s back to school time!
To celebrate the good old days of going back to school (they were never appreciated in their time) we’re having a great big cube T-shirt giveaway!
No better assignment has ever existed than the classic “your summer story” essay. So that’s what we’re looking for.
It doesn’t have to be long, properly structured, or even spellchecked. Just a quick story of your favourite memory from the summer.
