Events around the city!

My friends and I love getting out around the city. Attending events all over Toronto; be it photography, film, design, art or history (etc etc).

This past week was the Interior design show. We were lucky enough to get to more than a few events at the Metro Convention Center, the ROM and at the Gladstone Hotel.

At the Metro Convention Center there was the Interior Design Show. Lots to see, touch and take pics of! I'm proud to say that candian designers really stand out. I love that we are tactile people, we like things honest and real... things you want around you and that communicate more than just sleek and sexy. We have a sense of humor, a sense of story and a sense of history in most things we make... and you can see it whether you understand design or not. It was well worth checking out a show such as this.

Quest for school.

As you may or may not already know, Art school is freaking expensive. I plan on going to school in the fall.. And I need lots of money to do that. If you perhaps need a design done for your company, website, organization, wedding, graduation, sticker campaign, or dog sweater graphic for your sisters chihuaua.. I'd gladly take your business, obviously any company would, but peruse my mini-portfolio here:http://www.sendspace.com/file/yqtv9e  to see some of the stuff i've done.. And maybe, you'll like something enough to email me @ tayfifedesign@hotmail.com, and then i'll hook you up with a stellar graphic of your own.

PS I don't have any overhead, so I don't have very high prices..

Busy busy busy

Well I've been a bad boy not posting this past little while. It's been amazingly busy lately trying to get things off the ground. I quit my job in the toy industry as a Rep to create my own product. It's a designer Boombox for your MP3 player. Acting like speakers when you attach your personal music player. It's designed to look like a mini version of the Boombox from the 80's. I have a huge love for those giant Boomboxes that I just had to create my own.

Right now I'm busy organizing this with manufacturing in China and possibly here in Toronto. It's a huge process creating something from paper, to 3D model, to prototype and the way to a final product. There's plenty of small details that pop up and need attanetion. But in the end it's my dream to create my own designer product and get it into stores.

My website has been updated and so has my facebook fanpage if anyone is interested in learning more. Feel free to take a look and make comments or suggestions. Currently I'm looking for finacning and possibly investors to help with the cost. Everything else is pretty much laid out regarding shops on-line and off.
