Waze - Social GPS App

Hey Everyone!

I made a Cube Community group on my Waze App. It's a great social GPS for your car, it's like Pac-Man and GPS all rolled into one! Check it out and join me and my Cube on the road. If you're close to another Cube, you can do a shout out to them using the Chat function. You can also report on road conditions and pave new roads that haven't been discovered by Waze.

You can find the Cube Community group on Waze by installing the App, then going to groups and you'll find it there using the search tool.

Cheers

Jasin

Île d'Orléans et la ville de Québec

Artist Arthur Desmarteaux and I were recently invited for a 2 week residency at Engramme Print Studios in Quebec City. Here are more photos.  The picturesque road tour in the CUBE! www.looper.ca

If you squint...you can see the cube in the background...oh, and the St. Lawerence River, too.

LOBSTER FEAST!  CUBE delivered 9 beautiful fresh lobster to the feast.  Incidentally, handy storage compartments makes for great aquarium, with minimal splashing.

3. Crystal Castles - Magic Spells

El Guincho - Palmitos Park

4. The knife - HEARTBEATS

5. GutStrings - Crawl into my heart

6. LCD Soundsystem - Yeah (crass Version)

7. Manu Diabango - Hot Chicken

8. Mulatu Astatke - Tezeta

Epic Drive

We finished the first leg of our road trip to San Francisco today.

The idea was to get to somewhere in the middle of Iowa on Tuesday and spend the night and move along today (Wednesday) to get somewhere near Denver.  But, something funny happened.  We decided to push through and managed to go 2,200 KM in 24 hours.  It would have been over 2,400KM, but there were times when we were both sleeping at the side of the road and not driving.

So, here we are in Denver many hours ahead of schedule and able to relax and get cleaned up at a hotel.

Here's the cube by the pony express statue at the Colorado state 'Welcome Centre'

More pics to come as time allows.

Waterloo Drupal User's Group Meetup

On Thursday afternoon I hopped in the cube and scooted west down the 401 to KW (Kitchener-Waterloo) for their monthly Drupal user's group meeting.

One of the founders of the group Khalid had been following my Druplicon Cube project and wanted to see the decorated Cube for himself.  So he invited me down to present on "Upgrading Your Drupal Site" - and to seal the deal he invited a few of us to his place for an Egyptian feast.  Middle eastern / Mederainian food is awesome!

The turn out for the event was apparently larger than normal (I guess I'm famous or something) and the talk went well.  I like sharing my knowledge with others and giving back to communities in some way: doing a presentation is a pretty good way of doing both those things.

#eastcoastcube camping trip from the easterner perspective

During the Labour Day long weekend, Rannie and Jasin came down east for a little trip. Rannie, tagging it the #eastcoastcube camping trip on Twitter, provided a constant flow of information online (when he had cell phone service) and all three of us shot a ton of photos and some video (which i am still working on).

Below are a few of my favourite shots from the trip. You can see all of them in the gallery.
