cube recall official word from Nissan
Submitted by jon nelson on July 29th, 2010
Hello good people. Here's the official word from Nissan on the cube recall. Have a happy end of July / beginning to August and keep in touch!
Based on the recently conducted government compliance test, Nissan has determined that the affected vehicles may not meet one of the applicable standards related to fuel retention after a high speed rear collision.
During the development of the cube Nissan conducted internal certification testing using the same procedures, and that test did not produce any fuel leakage. The vehicle in the internal certification test met all the applicable requirements.
To address this issue Nissan will install a protector on the fuel filler recirculation tube. Nissan will begin contacting potentially affected customers in late August advising them to bring their vehicles to an authorized Nissan dealer for the installation of the protector.
There are approximately 5400 affected vehicles in Canada (45,700 in the USA). Nissan has determined that cube vehicles manufactured for Europe and Japan are not affected by this issue because they use different fuel filler parts to meet the applicable regulations in those markets.
No incidents or injuries have been associated with this issue. Nissan is committed to a high level of customer safety and is working to promptly address this issue.
Nissan is currently procuring the necessary parts and will begin to notify affected customers in August 2010.

My new Cube
I just got my cube on May 31 2010...and I am absoutly loving it. I wanted something different and the Cube is definitely that. I get people staring at it and I love that:)
The Cube is my very first car and it was a perfect choice...all my friends & family say "it's so you" and I totally agree.
I live in Vancouver and when I see a Cube driving along it makes me so happy...I see alot of white ones...myself I got the dark silver.
Just wanted to share my thoughts:)
Glad to have you here,
Glad to have you here, Amanda.
I'll be out in Vancouver the first week of September, visiting my dad, a cousin, a friend, a girl...
Hoping to do some camping and definitely some beach chilling.
I'll keep my eyes open for cubes!
My Cube:
Just bought it on May 29th 2010 - She is supposed to be a coffee bean color. Adore her. Her name is Brownie! I would have liked to have won the t shirt but I did not know how to do it as I am 59 years old.
Type of car I have always wanted 1. BMW sedan - cannot afford one now; lime green bug; lost interest. Saw this cube add last year and said this is the car for me.
have owned a 1999 special edition loaded corvette. I was young then but I am having so much more fund with Brownie. i don't know how I could put a pic of myself in here but if can help me I sure would appreciate it.
Any one of my cube family. here is Calgary for some reason we do not wave - we ignore each other. I know my cube is so cute though I can get away with cutting people off and all not that I am trying to make a habit of it.
