CUBE'ING IN KAUAI

I just got back from a two week stint in Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai. I was hoping to get there before the winter surf ended, however I was to late by two days. Its like a light switch up there, one day there is 10ft waves the next 1ft, so most of the time was spent down south island where the summer swells were starting to rise. The drive is about 40 minutes long and everyday on the drive down I would pass either a white or blue Cube, this is no surprise because there is only one main road going around the island and most cars being the same rental Mustang or Jeep.  I was really hoping to see a surf board rack on one of them.

For two weeks my diet consist of fresh coffee grown on the island, local fruit for lunch and fresh caught Tuna for dinner, then a glass of Kauai Rum for dessert.

When days are flat, time is spent checking out fresh water swimming holes, this one has both waterfall cliffs and rope swings. If you ever find yourself in Kauai ask some locals to give you directions its a truly amazing.

The last few days of the trip the waves came and the sessions were on.
