Fishing in Orangeville
Submitted by markiemak on June 27th, 2010
After seeing just about enough news on the G20, me and a bunch of buddies decided to head up north to escape the chaos of the city and do some fishing. We did some planning and decided to try out Island Lake, right near Orangeville. And if you're an avid fisher (or even a weekend one) I highly recommend trying the lake out. It's a really nice reserve located only about an hour north-west of Toronto...and it's stocked full of fish. After gathering everyone together and packing up the Cube, we went up there for the day and ended up catching nearly a dozen small mouth and large mouth bass. My buddy had the most luck and managed to pull out 3 bass himself. By the late afternoon though, the showers / lightning forced us to return to the Cube...but not after prepping the seats with garbage bags to avoid ruining the seats (gotta keep that fabric clean!). All in all though, the lake is a perfect weekend escape from the city and worth checking out!

Eat or throw back?
I find if you plan to throw them back, fish are easier to catch. It's like they know. Mind readers for sure.
Hahaha... glad you had fun.
That drive back was crazy huh? I drove from Orillia around 7pm. So much rain!
