Fresh New Cube Community

Cubes at the BBQ Just got an email message saying that the new cubecommunity.ca site is finally live. No sooner to I get the email and sign in, but I notice that two people have already posted on the new site.

I guess that means that people are excited to try it out.

Some new features that are easily spotted:

Brighter look
Easier to embed images into posts
New 'our pictures' and 'our videos'
New Galleries (kind of the same thing)

In other news: The picture you see is one I took at the Nissan BBQ on July 30th. I'm going to upload all my pics from that into a new gallery. If you were there, maybe you can upload your too?

I wish there was some way to post thumbnails or 'cut' posts. Mine are looking so awful because my pictures are getting cropped and are all showing up at once.

I really miss the attachments feature.

edit; I ended up just linking all of my pictures. It works, I guess?

With the image button on the WYSIWYG editor in your blog post you can upload a bunch of photos and choose to include photos from ones that you've uploaded.

You can also use the resizing tools inside of the image popup thinggy. (It will do the work of creating the smaller sized images for you).

If you need more fine grained control, you can select a full sized image and then specify how wide or tall it should display. The browser will load the full sized image, but scale the image down.

You can also embed the image to start and then just change the 'img' tags to be link tags.
