wow - my cube memory of the summer i believe was a reunification tour with my friend living in korea along with my current neighbour and brother in law - in highschool our group of friends were not clickish just clanish... too this day we manage to pull a outdoor escape onec a year - this time we went up to the severn river to stay 3 days in the forest - we blasted Ministry Psalm 69 on the ROCKFORD FOSGATE on the way up and then i played them my 6 new songs i have been working on recently (now finished) - went fishing and caught some rainbow trout - brought them back (still dont know how to clean a fish) and had a nice bbq with our girls. hopefully not too cliche but i really enjoy those things...

Our Cube

Anonymous's picture

When we bought our cube, some freinds thought it was ugly and some thought it was cute so I named the car MCLUC for my Cute Little Ugly Car.We are seniors and the car is so easy to get in and out of and has lots of headroom. We do get lots of funny looks not only for the car but those old people driving it.

My best summer memory of my green cube was taking the family camping. We packed her up with my family of five and just drove with no destination in mind! We had a blast!

The ice cube

Anonymous's picture

i live in Yellowknife northwest territories and I'm the only one in town with a cube. I run my own graphic design business so my cube has decals of my logo and a bunch of ptarmigans on it so I'm constantly bring stopped at lights, in the grocery store parking lot or the gas station by people asking if they can have a look. The cube is awesome and we've done a few long distance trips south from 1200 to 2500 km each time. It's great on the highway and awesome on gas! Love my ice cube!

Love My Cube

Anonymous's picture

I have never enjoyed driving or thought of a car as a part of me, but owning a cube since June 6th, 2009 has changed me. I get the thumbs up from the strangest people. Strangers stop & chat in parking lots curious about the car and how I like it etc. It has been a fun summer just driving!

Summer with my Cube

Jenny Bryans's picture

My favourite summer memory with my Cube was sitting through vacation traffic for 2 and a half hours and loving every minute of it. It's the first time in my life that I've ever enjoyed sitting in traffic! My Cube is so comfortable, and the looks I got from other drivers made the ride very entertaining. ;) It handles beautifully and I love driving it! My daughter calls it the bus and we often just went driving around town so she could be in it. We love our Cube! :)

Cube across America x 3

looper's picture

I got too many roadtrip stories this summer and last. August 2009 after picking up my Cube in Victoria I made a legendary drive east along the I-90 to Montreal with my Aunt and Mom. A highlight would have been driving on the road with wild buffalo in Yellowstone National Park! The Bull was as big as the CUBE, he could have made Cube-shish-kabob me with his horns. This summer I drove Montreal-Toronto-Chicago across the I-90 again, this time to the Badlands and then up through Montana to Calgary for stampede and across the rockies to Victoria. Although the valet parking in downtown Chicago was stellar....Driving the Cube through the Badlands in South Dakota was amazing, and somewhere in Wyoming after a long stretch of seeing nothing but land, I crossed another Cube on the road! Truckers in the gas stations at Montana were eagerly asking my about the MPG of the cube. racking up an impressive 6000km each time, I am driving back east [again!] starting monday. 3rd time! that deserves a t-shirt.

cube's first summer int he country...

My cube is the best little car..I live in the country side so she sees a lot of dirt road time....
My best summer memory this year is the time i had in my cube...my iphone works beautifully with the radio system so tunes were never an issue...I live in Ottawa and visit my family in Ptbo and toronto often...the cube does well sitting in rush hour traffic or zippin along the open roads...country or city....cause its compact and easy to park we go everywhere and never worry about space or gas....it's the best trip going down hwy 7 now...comfortable and easy driving....sometimes i forget and wonder why everyone is starring at me everywhere i go...then i remember they are lookin at my little white icecream truck as my friends have so dubbed it...or my ice cube...

Alberta in a day

glennin ed's picture

One of my more memorable trips this summer was a whirlwind day trip across my fine province. I live just north of Edmonton, but had to go to Leathbridge to visit a friend. I had other people that wanted to go, so we made a day trip of it. Leathbridge is a 6 hour drive from my house. Unfortunatly, I have a manual transmission, and none of the other people I was traveling with knew how to drive stick. So I drove for 12 hours that day. The cube handled the hightway well, but was a bit skitterish in the southern Alberta cross winds. it was a good day, and the cube served me well

Summer of the Cube!

Mysticalsoul's picture

This was definitely my summer of the Cube! I absolutely loooove my car. I started off in June with a road trip from Windsor to Tennessee to Bonnaroo. My First long road trip. My friends and I had the music just rocking on the way there and back. I have also notice that people can't help but smile when they see a cube on the highway. I love that. It starts conversation wherever I go, every gas station I pull into or greasy spoon for a quick bight to eat. Nine hours waiting on the shoulder of the highway to get into the festival were somehow tolerable sitting in the Cube listening to my IPOD. The very long hot days in Bonnaroo were a small price to pay for the awesome experience of being there. The music was phenomenal. It was a great way to set the tone for the summer of 2010!

The grand finale came on August 28th, 2010 when my husband and I actually got married in my cube! It was so us! Fun...spontaneous with a definite element of cool!

So, I married my love of 12 years in my other great love, my carJ

I honestly cannot imagine loving any other car the way I loooove my cube!

drive to New Aiyansh British Columbia

Anonymous's picture

I got hired to work in northern BC to do counselling and therapy. I was concerned that my "little" CUBE would have difficulty climbing some steep inclines and also be bounced around from the big logging trucks on the highway. To my delight, the little engine that could, performed flawlessly, not a gust of wind from the trucks and smooth sailing up hill and the comfort of the seats made this one of my best driving experiences. The wide windshiels also allowed me to take in the breath taking landscapes along the Yellowhead Highway between Edmonton right up to my destination. Stopping in Terrace, BC to pick up groceries before heading to my final destination, I was met with many odd looks and questions. One young couple in particular stood by my car until I came out of the store and after answering their questions, I discovered on my next trip to Terrace, two weeks later, they had bought a Cube, the same colour as mine.

My Halifax trip

Anonymous's picture

I had just gotten my new Cube on Friday and I was off to Halifax on Tuesday , I was nervous about the drive but found soon there was no need , she handled like a dream ..
When I got to the hotel all of the valets were jockeying to be the one to park the Cube , none had even seen one before .. it continued that way the 3 days that I stayed and each and every one said how much they loved it and how roomy it was inside , I am sure I must have sent a few to their Nissan Dealer to get one of their own ..
I was a great drive and a great time ..

My First Road Trip in my new Cube!!!

Amanda's picture

When I got my Cube at the end of May of this year... I so wanted to go on a road trip this summer...so I did with my mom.
I live in Vancouver and I see the odd Cube around and I always wave at the other Cube owners some wave back and some think I'm nuts...whatever. Okay back to the roap trip we just went to Birch Bay Washington a small trip but so exciting and fun... I plugged in my ipod into my cube the feature which I love and away we went!!
On our way there we were trying to spot Cubes only saw three. The cube drove great on the highway it zipped along and I was proud of driving it which is an awesome feeling...filled up the tank once and it was good to go:)
When we arrived in Birch Bay it's kinda a small town, and I got alot of stares at my Cube people doing double takes, I love when people do that!
So all and all it was a fun day and I must say before I didn't like to drive... now that I have my Cube I love to drive:)

My summer romance

coffeegirl's picture

I started out this summer, with my latest fling already in tow...or rather, Louis (my cube) was towing me.
It was love at first sight!
We took our first trip together, driving over the Rocky's, a first for us both to Calgary.
A whopping 2500km. Pure pleasure, driving with the windows down, music blaring and not a care in the world to who saw us. We were in love. (and might I add it only cost $130 gas for the whole trip - at BC prices and alberta prices, works out roughly to average of $1.05/L).
The fun didn't end there.
We when got back, I spent a good 2 hours washing and scrubbing Louis - you should have seen him, bug guts and leaves, bird poop and whole dead bees were stuck everywhere! Silly guy, I think we were the only 2 on the highway just about the whole time (only cube anyways).
Could very well be the best car ride of my life.
Here's to another summer Louis. May our love last a lifetime!

Trip to Ottawa

my most favorite memory is driving my cube to Ottawa
to see my best friend who flew in from Victoria
i haven't seen her and 4 years and she just got married
we celebrated her marriage my cube and being together!!

Driving home

HalfMad's picture

Every day, after work... driving across the city to go home.
I take the slowest road available, based on speed limit. But due to a lack of traffic, likely due to frequent speed traps, it's the fastest route, when doing the speed limit.
The freeway is the slowest route due to the virtual gridlock.

Beach

christine's picture

My favourite summer Cube memory is packing up my daughters (a cube full of girls!!!) and their friends and taking them to Lake Huron to spend an afternoon at the beach....windows down, ipod docked, music on!!!!

Turns heads everywhere

dubecube's picture

Travelling in the cube is sure to turn heads everywhere you go, especially is smaller towns. I spent a weekend in the Picton Ontario area this summer and was amazed at how many people asked me about the cube. I went to a lovely nursery to buy some plants. When the nursery owner saw my cube, he wanted to know everything about it. We ended up spending more time talking about the cube than we did talking about plants. I ended up with the best perennials for my garden, I wonder if he went out and got himself a cube?

My First Cube Summer

CaliZ's picture

Hello,
I bought my first 2010 Nissan Cube Krom in July of this year.
Wow I can say it has been quite the experience to date. Not only have I received numerous comments about it unique style on the outside but the inside is a whole other deal. I never thought I would enjoy the use of soo many cup holders to hold those cool summer drinks. From ice creams, to pop, to slushies, to hot chocolate on those cooler nights! I even had friends test drive the car just so I could enjoy the ride and comfort of reclining in the back seat.

The cube to me is not only a personal reflection of how I feel towards the environment, but is a workhorse for my computer business. I have saved $$$$ in gas as well as the ability to hold more equipment when going on site to customers. It has proven to be more than a "point A to point B" vehicle with the excitement of wanting to drive more and go places.

I never regret the day I picked up my Cube and look forward to years of enjoyment to come.

my summer squared, i mean cube'd

Anonymous's picture

This summer was full of fun times in my white vine. I took my 2 girls shed 2 and 4 to the beach and to marineland and downtown. I also was kinda thrilled feeling like a celebrity when evryobe would look my way. Of course they were looking at my gorgeous car but I felt like all eyes were on me.
No more leaving the house sans makeup! Also the cameadreir when passing a fellow cubist was nice. I never had that with another car.
Thanks for the Din times!

Cube, kids and Kites

My favorite Cube Fun, is loading the kids and our stunt kites in the Cube and heading to the beach for a day of flying, and it never ceases to amaze me getting friendly smiles and waves from other cubists.

Clean as a whistle~

Anonymous's picture

Actually my favorite story with regards to my cube anyways is after I got it waxed right after the winter weather cleared up. My cube was as clean as a whistle, I kept it clean and hand washed my baby 2-3 times a week. Loved every time I walked to my clean car as I kept it clean the whole summer, even though lots of rainy days and I am not looking forward to the winter once again. It was clean and I loved every time I saw my Cube.
Thank you!

Down east trip

Shamus19's picture

We replaced the family minivan with a Cube back in February, so we were nervous about fitting two adults, two kids, a Samoyed and two weeks worth of luggage in the car for our summer trip. We planned and packed and were pleased when we all fit comfortably in the car. Highlights of the trip include Magnetic Hill, cottage in Cavendish, driving the Cabot Trail and hitting Halifax. Everywhere we went, the Cube turned heads, as usual. It was a great summer.

M É M O R A B L E.

Un super beau voyage

Summer Cube'in

Dan's picture

Our cube is used for our bookstore business, so we have had it graphic'ed with our name on all sides, including "BOOKMOBILE" on the hood, but backwards - like an 'ECNALUBMA' (figure that one out!). All summer long I am running around the area, picking up and dropping off books, and needless to say get many interested stares: the Cube has even been featured in the local paper, and now a few other businesses are using Cubes, like a dog groomer, a computer repair biz, and a bakery deliverer. We were the first in town to have a Cube, and now get to give the inside wave to others that we pass on the roads. Cheers!

First time Ernie went on the road.

MBCubeLover's picture

We took Ernie camping, and he handled a lot better on the highway then my husband thought he would. We had loads of room for all our gear and the kids had a tonne of room as well. It was nice and comfortable. He went all over Manitoba this year, we have pictures of him everywhere including the big smoking pipe!!

Taking Ernie (my cube) out on the road for the first time..

Anonymous's picture

We took ernie out on a road trip this summer camping. I know for most people this is no big deal but I have had my Cube for over a year and just flipped the 10,000km's (of course took that picture as well). I baby Ernie like he is one of my children, some may say I am a little obessed with him but what do they know. :)

We had so much room for packing and for the kids. The great thing was the looks from people as we pulled into the campsite and then everyone coming over to check him out.

We have pictures on facebook of Ernie at a giant Pipe here in MB, and the Souris, MB Swinging Bridge and everywhere else.

It handled better on the highway then my husband thought it would and wasn't that bad on the fuel either.

summer travels

Greg Johnson's picture

My cube and i have travelled the highways of BC many times this summer. Its made the trip from Vancouver to a small obscure lake in the Interior many times, a 1000 km roundtrip consisting of city/highway/and gravel roads...

De Gaspé à Pittsburgh

Anonymous's picture

Après avoir roulé avec ma nouvelle cube Krom de Montréal en Gaspésie en juillet et de Montréal à Pittsburgh en août, quoi demander de plus pour passer un plus bel été?

The day I met Rubik, my Cube :)

Stefie's picture

On a cool summer morning, as I was just finishing a backshift working at the hospital, I got into my car to head home for some well-deserved sleep. As it turns out, I would not be getting any sleep that morning. To my dismay, my car broke down while exiting the hospital parking lot. I took my car to the garage and was given the bad news that it would cost a great deal of money to fix. Since my car was only fifteen days past the warranty expiration date, I was horrified. I decided it was time to buy a new car.

It couldn't be just any car, though - it had to be a car with some personality. I drove around from dealership to dealership looking for something, anything, that stood out from the rest. Just as I was driving into the parking lot of my local Nissan Dealership, I saw it. The oh-so-cute and incredibly unique Cube. I couldn't resist - the Cube came home with me that day. I named it "Rubik", got a Rubik's cube decal to put on the back window, and drove off into the sunset to live happily ever after.
