Hey Cubists,
Got a Snail Mail flyer and decided to check this out. I bought my CUBE in July because I took three young tweenage boys shopping for a desparately needed new mode of transport. While I looked over the economical Versa, THEY sat in the brown cube in the showroon, getting out once in a while to trade places. I think they travelled right round the world that day, maybe for an entire hour!
We asked if we could please have THAT EXACT CUBE, not one LIKE it, but THAT ONE. We could, we did, and two days later and ever since we have LOVED our CHOCOLATE cube. Her name is officially CHOCOLATE and well she is just so....mmm...deliciously fun. We think so every day.
We felt famous for a month or two, as EVERYONE STARED!!!! That was fun too.
Now we forget that we are a little different, and then think suddenly that we are being followed when people stare, or have left something hanging out the door...until someone suddenly remembers...o YA! we are DRIVING A CUBE!
Good times, good times:)
Chocolate :)
Chocolate,
I think that is funny. I also went into the dealership (mostly because my sister wanted me to buy a Sentra). I was looking at the Versa and decided to sit in the Cube. In all honesty it was the cup holder to the left of the steering wheel that got me. :-) I took it for a test drive, and other than the wind noise fell in love with it. :-) I got the 'espresso bean' colour and we named it "Coffee Bean" since it was the cupholder for my coffee that sold me.
I also occassionally forget why people are staring, and have the same revelation. The funniest thing I notice is when the box like cars start following each other on my commute... the Soul, Cube and Element on a little parade.. lol. Anything to make the drive to work more enjoyable....
Yea, I also went into the dealership, not planning on buying one, I left my husband for surgery and just went for a drive, and ended up buying a green cube. I do find that I hear alot of road noise, and a constant whistle. I took it to the dealership and they said the bug deflector on the front was causing it, I would think that they would design a bug deflector that didnt whistle. I was wondering what kind of mileage you were getting. I do love my cube, and wouldnt trade it for anything.
Hi Catherine,
I LOVE that CUPHOLDER too! and your story...Okay, Coffee Bean, nice to meet you and happy day!
Chocolate :)
Bought a 2010 Cube Sept 09, supposed to be 1 month to delivery - finally got it Dec 9th. Love the Car, however am really unimpressed with Nissan Canada (Vancouver, BC). Nissan held my car hostage for 3 weeks when it arrived in Vancouver as Nissan Canada wouldn't release it (apparently they wanted to sell more 2009's though there were no advertising efforts that I saw). When I was finally allowed to complete the sale and drive my car off the lot, the dealership didn't even throw in a bungee cord to say thank you for my patience.
I see Nissan has still not released the 2010's on their website and there is still little or no advertising for the cube in print, tv adverts or web based mediums (I've been looking)...
What's up with this company? It makes me think does Nissan have any respect for its customers? I thought Nissan was a good name, and a respected manufacturer. Should I be worried that I've bought a car from this company? A company with so little regard for its customers?
welcome to the world of cube - don't be worried!
There was no advertising other than the launch for the entire first year of production. You might start to see a little more when the 2010's are released.
2010 should be on the Canadian site later in January.
How are you enjoying your new cube?
