Live Music in Toronto

This post has absolutlely nothing to do with my Cube life.  In fact its about doing stuff that almost never involves driving (since I don't drive if there's a chance I might like a beer or two).

So what is it? Well, I am just blown away by the number of great shows in Toronto over the next little while.

Last night I was down at the Elmo (el Mocambo) to see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros with openers Fool's Gold.  A great show and good time had by all. (I think this review is spot on - but didn't touch on how great the Talking Heads inspired Fool's Gold was).

On Sunday night I'm going to be checking out Big Pink at Lee's Palace.

On December 2nd The Friendly Fires are playing at the Phoenix. (I missed out on tix for that)

December 4th has got King Khan (IMHO Montreal's Garage Rock God) at Lee's.

December 5th has the Handsome Furs coming through town again for like the 3rd time?! this year.
And the same night Phoenix is playing Sound Academy (Don't know why they didn't book the Phoenix :)

Then a bit of a break until White Cowbell Oaklahoma plays Lee's on the 18th. They aren't my favorite type of music, but one of the most entertaining bands you will ever see play in the city.  The shows are solid rock with huge theatrics.  Warning! There's been nudity (or worse) on stage at their shows.

Long story short - December is jam packed with great acts playing in the city.  Double Plus Bonus - most of the shows are under $20.  I'm going to be busy.

Anyone else checking out any of these shows?  Let me know - we can meet up there.
