officially winter

I like to snowboard. Do you? For those riders living in Toronto, this means a good 1 1/2 hr or 2hrs driving up hwy400. Usually I find myself driving up through a thick snowstorm because that's when you know the riding is gonna be good! Last winter, I was car-less, but, a member of ZipCar. This gave me the opportunity to "test drive" many cars through snow. After experiencing some white knuckled blizzards drives I was left dissapointed in many of the cars and wishing desperatley for some winter tires. Now that I have a Cube (!!) I've been waiting for some snow on the ground to see how it performs! This summer I got to get acquainted with my Cube's handling. But now, finally, its officially winter in Toronto! Its cold and snowing (sort of). I purchased some Michelin XIce2 Winter tires and had them put on several weeks ago. This weekend I finally had the chance to test them out in some snow during my drive up north to Barrie. I'm pleased with how the Cube stands up to winter driving. The Cube's profile absorbs crosswinds well and I don't feel like I'm being blown around the freeway (unlike an Element or Escape). Its nimbleness keeps me feeling agile through the drifts too. Those X-Ice2's are sticky and definetly assists the Cube's great handling in snowy conditions great so far! I'm looking forward to crammin some snowboards & friends in there and driving the Cube up for some riding in the next few weeks!
