projector

So I'm looking onto picking up a digital projector, one that can easily hook up to my mac, or ipod or whatever device, and project a good image up to 6 ft. preferably even larger.

Does anyone have any input?

I like the pico style projectorshttp://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/optoma-pico-projector.jpg

but I am pretty uncertain about their projection when it gets into the larger range. (3-6 ft)

I do, however, like their portability, and small footprint.

I don't want to spend thousands of bucks on it either, looking for something in the 200 - 300 dollar range =.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, especially 1st hand.

Ask a giant tech geek. I did that for you. His answer below:

I'm in the same boat: I want one, but first I want to know if it's a piece of [poop]. Projectors need to have a really seriously strong light in order to be bright enough, and I'm sceptical about whether they put a good enough light in this thing. My guess is that it's crap. Plus, what are the odds of finding a table or surface just the right distance from the wall in order to make it nice and big (or the size you expect).. just doesn't seem like it would work out in real life.
