Snow Tires

Hey Everyone,

 

So I need to get snow tires and am wondering what other people have purchased. I also need rims to go with the tires. I do not know anything about tires and dont want to get ripped off or spend too much on not so good tires... ya know?!

Those are very good snow tires. Michein X Ice Xi2's are also very good. The Primacy Alpin is a bit more performance oriented, while the X Ice is more of a pure snow tire and very good in severe conditions.

A standard black steel 15" rim will suffice for your snow tires. They vary in price but expect to pay about $40 a wheel, give or take. And in addition to paying for installation and balancing, you'll also need to pop for the tire pressure monitors (TPMS) and have them reset for your car by Nissan (they have a tool to do this). Otherwise you'll get a TPMS error indication on the dash.

I went with Gislaved Nord Frost 5's (195/60-15) and XXR 513 (15"X7") wheels. I initially had the basic black steel wheels for winter but I couldn't stand the thought of driving around on them for 5 months, lol. The Gislaved's got great reviews and were priced a bit less than the competition.
